Special Test

The special tests which are compulsory for the Platinum Award are held on the Saturday morning of the rally at the Motor Industry Research Association Proving ground at Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The results from the tests are used to establish winners of the various awards in the rally subject to a successful completion of 540 miles and control visits.
The tests which comprise of regularity riding tests combined with knowledge of your machine questions. The timing of these tests allow time for the competitors to have a light lunch in the restaurant at MIRA  before travelling to one of the controls which are within 25–30 miles of the test venue from which they can start the rally proper at 2.00pm.
The results from the tests are available at the final control so the organisers are able to provisionally announce the award winners on Sunday morning.
